Live audience recording from New York 1998. I don't think I need to introduce what the Largo project was but there are lots of links to the Hooters with Rob Hyman and Eric Bazilian etc. On this recording I can not find the song "Vishnu Largo" which is on the studio album. "Going Home" is an unreleased song (Largo theme with lyrics as Rob describes it) and sung by Sissel, a Norwegian singer with a fantastic voice. She appears on the Titanic soundtrack. From "Banjoman" to "Largo's Dream" there is other music in the background unfortunately. That is how the original is. The taper had not erased the tape before recording (while Garth Hudson is playing at a really low level, you hear the remains of the Lyle Lovett taping). Note that I am not sure if track #11 on CD 1 really is Largo's Dream. Garth is doing some strange instrumental piece. The sound is not great but it is a rare recording. It was supposed to be recorded professionally (you can hear Rob say that during this show) but it seems they never broadcasted it.

The second CD begins with the David Letterman show live performance. The band for the night is: Rob Hyman (keyboard, backing vocal), Eric Bazilian (hurdy gurdy), David Uosikkinen (drums), Taj Mahal (lead vocal), Joan Osborne (lead vocal), Garth Hudson (accordion), Mark Egan (bass), and a guy on guitar and a backing female vocalist. A very good version! Joan Osborne sings lead here which she doesn't do on the studio version.

After that is a radio live performance with David Forman and Rob Hyman on WXPN's World Cafe show with David Dye as host. WXPN is 88.3 FM in Philadelphia PA, recorded in May 1998. Very interesting performance, I personally like this "Disorient Express" version very much and also Gimme a Stone.

Next set is an interview from WFUV (90.7 FM), Fordham University's radio station in NY, May 1998 a few days after the show at the Bottom Line, but just before the Letterman appearance. Participants are Rick Chertoff and Rob Hyman.

At the end is a rare out of print b-side, an electric version of "An Uncommon Love".

The sound on this second CD is rather good, but some tape hiss at some points. Remastered sound. Available on two CD-R.
