First of all; this is NOT the CD that Eric sold at some concerts. And it is NOT the same versions as on the finished "The Optimist". Eric Bazilian had been working on his new solo album for several years and had a big material to chose from. These songs are some of the demos he has made during these years. "Hamburg" is a melancolic acoustic song about the Beatles and critical against Paul and Yoko (my interpretation). He shows nostalgic feelings about the early days of the Beatles who started their career at small clubs in Hamburg. "Jacko the Juggler" is a very nice song that has also been performed for Swedish TV, co-written with Mats Wester (Nordman). "Prisoners of Hollywood" was performed live 1996 in Piteå, Sweden. Very nice song! "Rules of the Game" is a slow melancolic song. "Thorn In Your Side" is influenced by the Beatles. Even the guitar sounds inspired by Harrison. "Every Skinhead's A Queer" was also performed live in Piteå '96. "One Of Us" is the original demo version performed by Eric. The rest of the songs can be found on "the Optimist" but this is demo versions and they are all more or less different. Very interesting to listen to the differences and compare. The biggest differences are the intros to each song. The sound is not perfect, slight distortion on some songs. But this is really rare stuff! Available on one CD-R.
